The Workshop
Looking to take your creative expression to the next level? Creative Vision Photo Workshops are designed to challenge you to reach new heights with your nature photography. Join Creative Vision instructors Joseph Rossbach & Richard Bernabe on an intensive, multi-day field and classroom instructional workshop that will help you create photographs you've always dreamed of making.

The Destination
Known as Plateau Light, the rimrocks, slot canyons and slick rock landscape surrounding Page, Arizona and Lake Powell is a Mecca for serious landscape photographers! Carved over the millennium by wind and water, the slot canyons of Antelope Canyon and the rimrock hoodoos that surround Lake Powell and the Vermillion Cliffs will fill our frames with a colorful and other worldly landscape.

We'll be in the canyons during the middle of the day shooting the wonderful reflected light and sensuous sandstone walls. During the golden hours of sunrise and sunset, we will venture to the canyon and plateau rims in search of water carved slick rock and hoodoo goblins. On at least one night, we will stay out well after the sun sets to work on starscapes and light painting.

One full day of the workshop will include a guided trip out to what the locals call "Area 52", White Pocket. We will spend the entire day shooting this alien landscape of twisted and multi colored rock with breaks in the day for lunch and drinks.

Curriculum
Joe and Richard will teach a variety of techniques—both in the field and in the classroom—that will allow you to advance both your technical skills and artistic vision. We focus on a number of professional field techniques to help you create dramatic and powerful nature images, including:

• Working with dramatic light, including sunrise and sunset;
• The fundamentals of powerful compositions; and
• Abstract techniques for creating artistic photographs.

We’ll also teach you a number of professional “digital darkroom” secrets as well. Our hands-on intensive seminars—held during the middle of the day when the light is not conducive for photography—will teach you the fundamentals of image processing, and allow you to master important techniques including:

• Working with adjustment layers;
• Layer masking and image blending techniques;
• Making difficult selections;
• Color management; and
• Special effects techniques used for artistic expression.

In addition, we'll explore a number of artistic philosophies that will help you find your own personal vision.
